I Heart Faces | Fix it Friday#60

I totally forgot it was friday, and as I was sitting here bored, I saw the update from I heart faces so I decided to take my stab at this photo this week.

I started off in Adobe ACR, I uped the brightness, exposure, and vibrance.

Then I brought it into photoshop. I used AMP's Clean
+ A little zing + I spy, tweaking all of them to my liking. Then I sharpened and resized for web! and thats all.

original.

Head on over to I heart faces and see how other 'fixed' this photo !

My wishlist !

So I am in the market for some new lenses- I have a 5omm 1.8 on the way and I CANNOT wait until it gets here! It should arrive early next week!

I drug the hubs and Pey to the camera store today so I could just play with lenses, and I wanted to try out the 35mm to see if that is what I wanted for our anniversary. OMG I AM IN LOVE. Its the Canon 35mm f/2. Of course I would prefer a f/1.4 or f/1.8 but unfortunately Canon makes an f/1.4 that is $1500. A big jump from the $315 that the f/2 costs and WAY out of budget. Oh well maybe someday :)

Check out the yummy bokeh on the 35mm. I just had to test it out at the store !

My wee one !

Today my little princess is 16 months old ! We took her to the park, and I thought it would be a perfect picture opportunity, but of course little miss just kept running away from me :P Here are a few snaps of miss Pey, and some pretty flowers !

I Heart Faces | Celebrating Teens

Anyone who has a younger sibling knows that they are not always going to get along perfectly- as is the case with my younger sister and I. We fight all the time, but at the end of the day we know that we would be there for each other in a heartbeat.

My sister has a pretty rare blood disease called ITP and as a result she bruises very easily. We found out she had this when she was 4, and since she couldn't participate in any real contact sports, my mom decided to put her into dance. It soon became her whole life, and she has hopes to pursue it as a career someday. She is now 16 and just left this past saturday for 8 weeks of dance camp. 6 weeks at Milwaukee Ballet, and the
n 2 weeks at Joffery Ballet in NYC ! Its very cool to see
my baby sister grow up and overcome so many
obsticals.
Head on over to I Heart Faces to check out some of the other entries celebrating teens this week!

I did it again.

I went MIA for a while. I really need to work on this whole blogging everyday thing- but I've just been so busy.

Last week I had 3 newborn sessions. They were SOO much fun and I really learned a lot. I have some sneaks that I want to share sometime this week so stay tuned--they will be new ones not featured on my facebook page :)

I am taking a photography class right now and I am LOVING it. I get to do darkroom and all that fun stuff, plus I am learning a lot about the fun
damentals of photography. I definitely needed this course!

I'll be sure to update soon !

My 365 | Day 4

Well, I knew it would happen, and I was right. I slacked.

So i'm going to post a few pictures instead of just one. I had to go out and take pictures for my photography class- its a whole new world for me, its an all f
ilm class. Today our assignment was to shoot a roll of film and only take pictures of
textures. So I thought I'd drive around the town and see w
hat I could find as inspiration, and I brought my good ol' d
igital along for the ride. Luckily I did because I just had to pull it out a few times :)

There is something so interesting about capturing feet on camera. To me every pair of feet tell their own little story.
You can head over to I Heart Faces to check out the other fabulous feet. hehe

Playing Catch'up

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! I worked all weekend, but we did buy a little pool for Peyton and I got to enjoy it briefly!

Last week I had a little shoot with Carman, we work together at Coach, and she agreed to let me take some pictures to help build my portfolio. It was such a fun shoot! We got down and dirty, and a little wet, and it was well worth it!

Enjoy some of my favorites from her shoot!

My 365 | Day 2

It's a rainy boring day outside today, so me miss Peyton had a rainy lazy day inside ! She LOVES smelling my flowers that I got for mothers day, so I grabbed this faux flower so she could play with it, and snapped some pictures. I love this. I also played with a texture from I <3 Faces!

My 365 | Day 1

I've been inspired to do a 365 Project. I am very very excited about it, and I am really going to push myself to post everyday.

So today is Day 1. I know the date says May 20, but my start day is May 19. I took this technically yesterday, and had to fight a toddler who refused to sleep, and a super slow computer before I could get the photo edited and up here.

Colin took Peyton upstairs to look for something, and came down telling me how pretty the sunset was. So I grabbed my camera, and ran down the street.

I Heart Faces| Fix it Friday #54

Another Fix it friday from I<3 Faces!

This week's photo was submitted by Christina from 3 Sweet P's. She wrote: "This is a photo of my 2 year-old Parker. I am bothered by the harsh shadow on his face and the washed out colors of the photo. His eyes are a beautiful blue and you just can't see that. I would love to see what you guys can come up with!"

My edit

For my edit, I started off in ACR and adjusted exposure, vibrance, and a little fill light.

Then I brought it into CS4, I duplicated the background layer, and cloned out the red marks on his face. Then I did a slight curve adjustment. I opened a new layer, and chose a peachy color from his skin, and painted over the blown out portion of his face, and lowered the opacity to 80%. Then I merged all layers, and ran AMP's Serendipity action at 50% I believe, and then AMP's Softly action at 70%. Then I did a slight eye pop.

All done!

I Heart Faces | Fix it Friday 51

Its friday! Time for another FIF from I <3 Faces.

I had a little trouble with this one. I am not very good at editing skin tones and I had a hard time getting it right in this picture. Its not the best, but its the best I could do in the short time I had to work on it today.

Photo Manipulation | Part 2

I tried several different things before I finally decided on this edit. I still need to find an object to add to her, but this is what I have so far. I'm almost done! Phew!

I just added a texture behind her, and around her face a bit.

If nothing else, its at least interesting to look at.
